Join Opera Night on September 23 as West Coast Opera and Song Yoo Mee Productions welcomes the change of season, bringing you a wonderful evening of music and performers in the style of Verismo Opera!
As you enjoy a curated five course Italian dinner with wine pairings from the Servino family, Maestro Robert weaves amusing anecdotes and connects the music to meaning and understanding throughout the evening's beautifully tailored experience. Immerse yourself in the stories and sounds of soaring vocals as they share their dramatic, intense passion! Learn how large, cinematic orchestras give their energy and mood as expressed within the instrumentalists' vivid and sensitive expression -- as a summer storm signals the transition into fall colors with a spectacular display of lightning, thunder, and fresh new rain.
We look forward to sharing classic selections with you including, "Questa O’ Quella," "È la Solita Storia" and course, the Maestro's variation on "Nessun Dorma."
Tenor, Joseph Meyers enjoys a varied career in opera, concert work and musical theater. San Francisco, Portland, Anchorage, Tampa, Toledo, Grand Rapids, Utah Festival, San Jose, Sacramento, and Santa Barbara, are just some of the opera companies where he has worked. Carmina Burana has become a specialty, most notably sung on tour in China.
Favorite roles include, Piangi in The Phantom of the Opera- First National Tour, The Opera Singer in the film, “Milk,” tenor soloist in West Side Story Suite with SF Ballet, Canio in I Pagliacci and Hoffmann in The Tales of Hoffman at Pocket Opera, Rodolfo in La Boheme at Rogue Valley Opera, Little Victor in Elizabeth Cree, Mr. Bobo in Coraline with West Edge Opera and The Vain Man in The Little Prince at Opera Parallèle.

Kristin Genis-Lund, lyric coloratura soprano, has performed extensively throughout Northern California in opera, oratorio, musical theater and recitals. Ms. Genis-Lund has been active in mainstage productions of West Bay Opera, Opera San Jose, Bay Shore Lyric Opera to name a few.
Roles include Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Sophie in Massenet’s Werther, Susanna in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Oscar in Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera, Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Frasquita inBizet's Carmen and her debut in Opera Cultura’s production of Rodriguez’s Frida singing the role of Cristina Kahlo/Mrs. Ford. Most recently, she sang the roles of Giulietta in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi and Belinda in Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas.
